Edison Elementary School

Santa Ana Unified School District
$5.6 Million

Built in 1937, Thomas Edison Elementary is the third oldest campus in the Santa Ana Unified School District.

This modernization project restored several elements back to their original design or condition: the Front Portal, closed for many years, was re-established bringing back to importance the exterior entry features; intricate interior detailing was preserved while accommodating ADA upgrades; the Multipurpose Room was returned to its original state with high vaulted ceilings, coffers and rich architectural detail. The modernization also included the design of two new classroom buildings replacing dozens of portable units. Site parking, hardscape and landscape were re-designed to harmonize all the parts into a unified whole.
